I found your blog via a google search (in an attempt to identify some locations in Tokyo I visited last year but can’t for the life of me remember the name of) and I have to say, your blog is really interesting. I’m hooked, I think I’ll be bookmarking it.

But mostly, it’s making me jealous (read: depressed) that I am not in Japan and that I didn’t go a semester abroad when I was in university. Gah. Anyway, looking forward to your future posts!

Austin *is* humid, and it rains often enough for the air to stay pretty humid for awhile. I don’t know if you’ve gone anywhere outside of Texas in the US, but the air in the midwest is what I consider dry and thin… because it is. XD

Houston’s humidity is so bad, it’s like you’re breathing in water. The heat wave hits you in the face right when you step out the door, and if you think that’s bad, it’s even worse when you try entering your car. And walking more than 10 minutes outside during the day is unthinkable, because most people aren’t crazy enough to torture themselves like that. That’s why I like Austin… ^_^;;

No way is Austin humid, it is always so dry and the air is always thin. I could see Houston being humid because of the proximity to the ocean. Austin heat is pretty bad, I’ll admit, comapared to heat here in Japan, although it definately feels otherwise sometimes.

I can’t say if Japan is like Houston because I haven’t been in Houston often.

Texas is hot and dry? Maybe most of it. But, Houston is incredibly hot and humid… It’s so bad that everyone dreads stepping outside of the house during the summer. Austin is somewhat humid, but not as bad as Houston. Plus, the heat in Austin is tolerable.

So, is Japan like Houston? XD
