Suntory Malts and Karaoke

A blog about my study abroad experience in Japan.

pondering

So, while I am reading other Japan blogs, I wonder if whether I should include more posts about Japan in general, along with my regular blogging about my time in Japan? With a (almost) degree in government and a taste for social studies, should I add a little social commentary?

I am gonna make a post about my visit to Takao soon, but my photos are so large that Flickr takes away 10% of my monthly allowance every 6 photos I upload, and I can’t finish uploading until June rolls around. So, I need to figure out a way to lower the memory size of my photos without sacrificing large amounts of quality.

Monday, I ate KFC in Japan for the first time. Ryan and I were walking toward Aaron’s apartment, when he smelled fried chicken. Naturally, we ran across a busy street and into the KFC. First things first, there are only THREE sides. Corn, coleslaw, and potato wedges are all that the Japan KFCs have. They come in tiny portions. The container can fit in a fist. But they did have spicy chicken. We bought six pieces of chicken for 1200 yen, which is about 10 dollars. Three pieces of chicken for 5 bucks wasn’t incredibly bad, and they were spicy. I dripped chicken grease and fried skin on Aaron’s freshly mopped floor. Oops.

  1. I really like Asian KFC. Or at least Taiwanese KFC. I like how they fry it. And I looove the chicken juices dripping off. YUM.

…I forgot to get some. :’(
